Dr. Joe Huntsman is the founder and lead neurologist of Blacksburg Neurology, P.C., which he established on June 28, 2005, to bring specialist-level neurological care to the New River Valley region of Southwest Virginia. Born in 1967, Dr. Huntsman brings nearly six decades of life experience and close to two decades of dedicated private practice to every patient encounter.

With nearly twenty years of private practice experience, Dr. Huntsman has become one of the most trusted neurologists in the region. His approach is characterized by intellectual rigor, genuine compassion, and an unwavering commitment to individualized patient care. He believes that the best neurology is practiced not in volume, but in depth — taking the time necessary to truly understand each patient's unique neurological presentation.

Dr. Huntsman performs and personally interprets all electrodiagnostic studies conducted at the practice, including EEG and EMG/nerve conduction studies. This hands-on approach ensures that diagnostic data is translated into meaningful clinical insight by the physician who knows the patient best.

He is actively involved in the ongoing management of his patients' neurological conditions, providing the continuity of care that is essential for conditions requiring long-term monitoring and treatment adjustment.
